Casual Environmental Service Laundry Worker
From: Leeann Sampson, Director of Maintenance and Environmental ServicesRC MacGillivray Guest HomeSubject: Job PostingPosition: Casual Environmental Service/Laundry WorkerHours of Work: 8-hour shifts between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. laundry 7am to 3pm and 9am to 5pm. On-call, 0 to 40 hours per week, 7 days per week, including holidays. Hours and schedule subject to change.Probationary rate: $18.77 Wages scheduled to increaseDuties:Capable of performing a variety of Environmental Service/ Laundry duties.Must be able to perform in a busy environment.Promote and maintain the safety of residents, staff and visitors at all times.Performs duties in a caring and professional manner.Must demonstrate ability to work well as a team member.Attend in-service programs, education and training sessions and maintains knowledge of the facility's policies and procedures.Participate in safety and quality assurance programs by providing constructive ideas and solutions to problems and challenges.Attend in-services, educational and training sessions for self-development.Attend compulsory fire safety orientation and WHMIS programs yearly.Qualifications:Grade 12 education or equivalent.Good attendance and work record.Sewing an asset but not a requirement.Good general health which allows for the ability to attend work on a regular basis and meet the physical demands of the position.Good general hygiene.In accordance with the Organization's Police Record Check Policy, the position requires the incumbent to submit a Police Record Check Clearance including vulnerable sector.Ability to follow verbal and written instruction.Ability to work as a team member.Ability to adapt to changing workplace environment.Ability to operate environmental service/ laundry equipment.Ability to organize workload.Ability to communicate effectively with residents, coworkers, managers, volunteers, families and members of the public.Note:Please send your resume to:Leeann SampsonDirector of Maintenance and Environmental ServicesRC MacGillivray Guest Home25 Xavier DriveSydney, Nova Scotia B1S 2R9Fax: (902) 567-0437leeann.samspon@mggh.orgOnly those accepted for an interview will be contacted.
